Google Photos: Update helps free up storage space
a new ‘ Free Up Space’ button has been added to the Settings menu of the Google Photos app on Android. When you click ‘Free Up Space,’ you’ll be prompted to delete all the copies of photos and videos that have already been backed up by the app.
